Divided into areas of the Animal Kingdom: Vertebrates (with four classes: mammals, birds, reptiles and fishes), Molluscs, Articulates, Radiates, and Protozoa. Begining with the Quadrumana or Monkey tribe, this volume very throughly covers it all: cat & dog families, bears, beavers, dolphins, whales, camels, eagles, hippos, armadillos, giraffe, condors, cockatoos, macaw, frogs, tortise, etc. very vast, ending with the insect world. Index to rear. Color illustrated picture boards, brown cloth spine. Spine wrinkled, inside hinges superficially cracked. Boards mildly worn, corners rubbed, pages toned, edge chipping of first few pages. Clean text and illustrations, tightly bound. First 8 pages missing including title page, begins with index starting "Cavy" page 9. Inscription & doodle to e.p. Frontispiece intact, few pages have closed tears, index to page 16 edge tears & chips loose, e.p.'s reinforced, last 18 pages missing, last page is 1106 The Sea-Wing of the Pinna Tribe and it's description. However, the pages included are vast, clean & tightly bound. Great illustrations, 1106 pages sm 4 to. No date, circa early 1900
