Young girl from a small town (during the depression) decides to move to N.Y.C. A strange, exciting story of a woman's desire for love and security at a time when there is no money to try to build either. Originally published in 1932; according to Joel Siegel's The Reality of Terror, this book was so succesful it was translated & published in 12 countries. Colorful picture boards, of girl in a racey bohemian type outfit, mild spotting, few closed tears to upper spine end, rubbing of spine ends and edges, foredges red stained, mild toning to text. First page small closed edge tear. All else clean, tightly bound.
