A fictious kingdom following the adventures of Prince Giglio, who was ousted from the throne by his uncle. And of Prince Giglio's rivalry for the hand, first of the Princess Angelica, then of her maid Betsinda (who thurns out later to be the Princess, nay the Queen Rosalba). Including other characters; the ridiculous Prince Bulbo, with his misfortunes, and entanglements with the Countess Gruffanuff who is Angelica's governess . George Macy writes the backround of Thackeray's story "How This Book Came to Be". With the marginal Glosses by Michael Angelo Titmarsh and the illustrations drawn by Fritz Kredel with the considerable assistance of Mr. M.A. Titmarsh. Illustrated throughout with reddish brown drawings. No slipcase, white boards, illustrated, blue lettering. Mild crease to upper spine and mild soiling.
